Grade 7 US History
Seventh grade social studies focuses on the history of the United States from 1789 (the Constitution) through the Civil War. During this class we will study the history of America in depth in order to increase understanding and develop historical thinking skills. |
Grade 8 US History
Eight grade social studies builds on knowledge and skills developed in 7th grade as students study US history from the Age of Jackson through the end of the 19th century. |
Grade 10 World History
World history is a new class at DIS. Students in this course will study world history from the Agricultural Revolution through the present day. Students will develop historical thinking skills that will benefit them as they look forward to AP and university history courses. |

PARTICIPATION & ETHICAL BEHAVIOR: All students are expected to participate daily in class, whether called upon or not. All students are expected to do their own work. ANY copying, plagiarizing, or cheating will result in 0 credit and a phone call home. |

Usage: In my classroom, students are only permitted to use electronic devices when asked to do so by me and only for classroom purposes. Any unauthorized use of electronic devices will result in disciplinary action. ** ALL PHONES MUST BE PLACED IN THE PHONE RACK AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH CLASS. ** Website: I will be using my website (TheStarkRoom.weebly.com) to post videos, assignments, and so on. It is expected that students check the website daily. Facebook: I maintain a policy of not adding current students to Facebook. Any communication outside of school should be through email. |
Homework
All work is due at the beginning of class on the due date, whether it is a physical assignment or a digital one. After that time, the assignment is considered late and graded accordingly. Work turned in after class on the same day, for instance, is considered late.
